Application for Entry into 10th Grade

Thank you for expressing interest in Top of the Hill girls Junior and Senior School.

Top of the Hill is a girls’ Boarding school; it is a private, non-profit-making institution. Guided by Christian principles, an education from Top of the Hill School will empower, model, and instruct female learners to become women of noble character, responsible citizens and competent professionals.  

To qualify for admission, Grade 10 candidates must be registered to sit KPSEA examinations in November 2025.

Please note that the Top of the Hill entrance test for Grade 10 will be held in September/October 2025th.  The specific date and location will be announced to the applicants as soon as we receive your application.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Download the APPLICATION FORM available on the Top of the Hill GSS School website
  2. Fill in the form making sure that all relevant details, including the parents’ signatures, are correctly and well captured.
  3. Please make sure you get the NEMIS/UPI and KNEC ASSESSMENT NUMBERS from your current school.
  4. Affix a recent, colored, passport-size photograph of the candidate on the space provided on the Application Form.
  5. Scan and save the completed Application Form in PDF format.
  6. Scan and save the following accompanying documents in PDF format:
    1. A copy of the applicant’s Birth Certificate;
    1. A copy of the applicant’s Trial KPSEA examination results. If these results are not available, a copy of the latest Grade 6 and 9 examination results will suffice.
  7. Send an email to admissions@topofthehillGSS.org attaching the documents in 5 and 6 above. The subject of the email should be the candidate’s full name.
  8. Once your Application Form is received, you will receive an email from the school within 7 working days, with the following details:
    1. Confirmation of receipt of the Application Form
    1. The Applicant’s Reference Number. This number should be quoted in all subsequent communication with the school regarding applications.
    1. The location, date and time when the applicant will be expected to take the entrance test.
  9. If you do not receive any confirmation from the school within 7 working days from the day the application documents are sent, you may write a follow-up email using the same address or make a telephone call to the school using the contacts in this document.
  10. Please note that the deadline for receiving the application is September 2025.

Our Commitment

Top of the Hill Junior and Senior School will admit students from widely differing backgrounds. It is possible that the number of applicants for admission will exceeds the number of places available. All applicants will be required to sit a written test. The Admissions Committee will select those students who demonstrate ability to cope with Top of the Hill rigor and demanding academic standards and who show ability to become active, productive members of the School community.
